24 Hour Playwriting Competition!

Not really ‘serious’ writing given you have to incorporate (often bizarre) stimuli into your plays but you may be surprised what you come up with in 24 hrs, working under pressure.

(& at the very least it’s an experience & the food’s usually not too bad…)

TheatreWorks Writers’ Laboratory
24-Hour Playwriting Competition 2008
2 August 2008 to 3 August 2008, 4pm to 4pm
Eurasian Community House

The 24-Hour Playwriting Competition is back! And we are getting bigger than before!

For the very first time, TheatreWorks Writers’ Lab is partnering the South East Community Development Council as part of the South East District Arts Festival 2008 – ArtXpressions, and SHINE 2008 of the National Youth Council / MCYS. This unprecedented collaboration will bring the celebrated Competition to the South East District, Joo Chiat.

Be prepared for 24 hours of fun, angst, intrigue as the Competition progresses at the Eurasian Community House. At the same time, get to know more about the South East District and the Eurasian Community, their colours, history and heritage. 燭here will not be a single dull moment with the playwriting fever piping hot in the Competition.

Registration is now opened and the closing date for registration is on 20 July 2008! Hurry, as the number of places in the competition is limited to 200. Registration fee: Youth Category (15-18 years) – $25; Open Category (19 years and above) – $35.
