Day 3 John Scott workshop

And I’m still alive, though exhausted.

Why do I practise ‘harder’ in class than on my own? Is it group energy or just not wanting to wimp out?

Or am I more tired because of new stuff like breathing techniques?

But no, I’m not feeling over-strained tired. Just glad to have done the workshop. I think for now I’m thinking of YogaShala at Yan Kit as my ‘home’ shala but once a year I may go off for a workshop/retreat –like going on sabbatical, just to know what’s happening in the rest of the world.

Right now I’m looking at Stillpoint, Nelson NZ!

But summing up all that I’ve learned: focus on breathing & throw away preconceptions/mind casts like “I can’t do that” & “these are my hands, those are my feet” because if you want to stand on your hands, your body knows how to–once you discard the ‘I can’t’ & ‘people don’t stand on their feet’.

& I must must must remember to pull my shoulders back in shoulder stands & chakrasana prep.

& practising every day is a way of life, a habit, a gift

but tomorrow is a moon day & I’m already tired…

In the spirit of WoYoPracMo & making time on the mat a daily habit–let it be an hour of Yin…
