About
Two years ago I was in an Indian vegetarian restaurant when an old man came up to my table and said “You are a Christian and you do yoga,” which impressed me very much, because given our environment, this totally exceeded all Forer “You have a need for other people to like and admire you, and yet you tend to be critical of yourself” Effect expectations. Of course after that I broke a leg and got chubby and cranky so any yogic christian vibes may no longer be evident but yes, I do yoga, am a Christian in the eyes of God though probably not in the eyes of my fundamentalist brothers and sisters; am a full time writer because I love words and ideas and framing possibilities and points of view and because I would find it impossible to dress up for an office every day; I have cats (local kucintas), red eared sliders, guppies, siamese algae eaters & a pleco (turtles & fish in separate tanks) and plants–trying to get my orchids & chinese temple flowers to bloom with drain-off from my worm farm.
Any tips on this or on moving from primary to intermediate series (ashtanga) will be most gratefully received!

As regards the last line of your post, here is a blog by a friend of mine, who is also a yoga teacher: a filipina married to an American, who lives in Afghanistan!

I hope you can interact with her on her blog and exchange yoga tips.
I wish to start on yoga too (some day), but in any case I see no clash between a Christian doing Yoga, yoga is universal in its reach and benefits!

Thank you very much for visiting & for the link! It’s especially timely because right now I’ve been feeling the need to slow down, focus & spend more time on meditation instead of just asanas & the first post I found on your friend’s blog was so relevant!
(btw I’m linking to your blog too–but under ‘writing’–hope you do try yoga soon!)
